What we do with your data
In plain language: what data we receive when you send us a message, call or WhatsApp us, what we use it for and what your rights are.

Who we are
Driessen Dressage Horses B.V. is the controller of the personal data that reaches us through this website, WhatsApp, email or phone.

What data we receive
Through the contact form:
- your name and email address (required);
- your phone number, if you give it;
- the topic you choose, such as buying a horse or an internship;
- the name of the horse you are asking about, if you fill it in;
- your message (required);
- the language of the page, so we can reply in your language.
Through WhatsApp, email or phone: the details you share with us yourself, such as your name, phone number or email address, your message and any photos or videos.
Technical data: as with any website, our hosting provider processes data such as your IP address and the time of your visit, to deliver the page to you and to prevent abuse. We do not use it to track or identify you.
If you are under 16 and would like to write to us, for example about an internship, please do so together with a parent or guardian.
What for, and on what legal basis
We only use your details to answer your question and, if you wish, to arrange a visit, trial ride or appointment with you. The GDPR requires a legal basis for each use. Ours are:
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): we want to answer questions about our horses, stallions, sales and internships properly, and keep the website secure.
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): if you ask about buying or selling a horse, a covering or an internship, or if an agreement follows, we use the details needed for it.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): records in our accounts, such as invoices, are kept for as long as the law requires.
We do not use your details for newsletters or advertising, we do not build profiles, and we never sell or rent them to anyone.
How long we keep them
No longer than needed to deal with your question, and no more than twelve months after our last contact. After that we delete your message.
If an agreement follows, such as the purchase of a horse, we keep the details needed for it for as long as it runs. Records in our accounts are kept for seven years, as Dutch law requires.
Who else processes them
A few companies help us run the website and our communication. They only process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and processes the contact form. Cloudflare is a US company; data that leaves the European Union is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- An email service delivers the completed form as an email to our inbox, which is hosted by our email provider.
If you choose WhatsApp, your message goes through WhatsApp (Meta), and WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply as well. Other than that, we share your details with no one unless the law requires us to.
Security
The website only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The form asks for no more than we need, and the script that processes it writes no personal data to log files.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the details we hold about you;
- have incorrect details corrected;
- have your details deleted;
- object to their use, or have their use restricted;
- receive your details in a common file format.
Send your request to info@driessendressagehorses.nl. We will respond within one month.
Unhappy with how we handle your details? Please tell us first and we will look for a solution together. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
Changes
If the website changes, for example with a new form, we will update this notice. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
